"I ran side by side with him without putting a mark on him. I was trying to put a mark on him but I couldn't catch him."

HayWire Motorsports Going Out In Style. . .

Port Angeles Speedway – Port Angeles, Wa. – 9-15-07 –

On the heels of a solid run at Spokane Raceway Park, the HayWire Motorsports team headed to Port Angeles Speedway for the championship race in the Limited Late Model Racing Series. After many adjustments during practice the crew looked to qualifying to defend their track record laid down during the last visit to this tight ¼ mile oval.

Qualifying would find the KMB Design Groups/Mauritsen Enterprises #68 stock car second fastest on the grid.

The real action came in the 100 lap Main Event where the 4-car invert placed the #68 inside on the second row. After the first 10 laps the race would begin to take shape. Running in 4th place, driver “Terrible” Tim McDougald began to go to work on the 3rd place car. “We had a good car, but so did several other guys.” Said driver Tim McDougald, “I had enough to get to him, but not enough to really do anything. So I just started working on him trying to shake him loose or make him make a mistake.” The hard work would eventually pay off as Tim was able to make the move with 25 laps to go. Tim Mcdougald said “I got inside on him going into 3 and shook him loose just enough that I got a good run on him going down into 1 and kind of buried it in there and it stuck. From that point it was no looking back” The #68 KMB Design Groups/Mauritsen Enterprises stock car finished of the season with a 3rd place finish, showing that this team is a force to be reckoned with.

Look for the #68 KMB Design Groups/Mauritsen Enterprises stock car to continue this late season success into the 2008 racing season.
