Growing Pains Continue

Douglas County Speedway – Roseburg, Or. –

7-14-07 – The #68 HayWire Racing, Mauritsen Enterprises stock car heads to Douglas County Speedway for race 4 on the Limited Late Model Racing Series schedule. Looking to get the season back on track after what has been a long and trying season thus far, the team will arrive at the one place they feel can swing things in their favor. As the brand new series heads to the 3/8 mile oval in Roseburg, Oregon the #68 HayWire Racing team brings with them a team member with on track experience in Late Model racing to the speedway that almost every LLMRS driver has never seen before. Driver Tim McDougald will be looking to his fellow team member for valuable insight on the right way to run this technically demanding track while the crew looks for added input on car setup and handling adjustments from what they feel is their “secret weapon”.

After the season opener at Ephrata Raceway Park lasted only two practice sessions for the small team from Tacoma, Wa and them budget struggles kept them from the second race in Hermiston, Or the team has been trying to play “catch up” ever since. With another solid performance taken from the team by mechanical troubles at Spokane Raceway Park it began to feel like an uphill battle. “We have had what we think was the car to beat twice now,” said driver Tim McDougald “but one thing or another has kept us from showing the results we should have.” The team will once again attempt to regroup with high hopes for a solid run at a track they have seen before. “I think we hold the advantage. We’ve been here as a team with our other car and we’ve seen this place so I think we have some insight to how to set the car up and how to get around here successfully.” Said driver Tim McDougald, adding “I wouldn’t trade my group of guys for anything or anyone. No matter how tough things seem to get, they always find a way to press on.”

Look for the #68 HayWire Racing, Mauritsen Enterprises stock car to be a serious contender at the Douglas County Speedway in Roseburg, Oregon for the LLMRS mid season race as they try to scratch and claw their way back into the top 5 for this inaugural championship chase.
