Off-Season Update - PDF Print E-mail
Tacoma, Washington

1-27-2012 –
It's been a long off-season this year, with not a lot to report on around the HayWire Motorsports shop. For those of you reading the blog updates you're probably familiar with what is going on around here. For the rest of you, we encourage you to join us on the blog for the latest news and updates.
As we wrapped up the 2011 racing season we were in a pretty good spot heading into the off-season. The most notable thing was that this would be the first off-season in a long time that we did not need to build a completely new car from the ground up in several seasons. The #92 Chevy Impala needed a little bit of repair work after the season finale where Tommy let it all hang out as he scrambled for a top-5 finish on the last lap. The entire team was very happy to end the season on that note, so the work to make the needed repairs was well worth it. The other notable item was the extensive damage to the #29 Olds Cutlass still waiting to be repaired after the 2010 season. Donny's run in the Dennis Smitham Memorial left the car with heavy body damage. Coupled with changing rules, this project would turn into a complete rebuild/makeover of the car. The easy one would turn out to be the car that undoubtedly has provided the most headaches for the team over the past 4 seasons, the #68 Toyota Camry. With the car basically in race-ready shape at the end of the season, it would simply go under the cover and wait.
